This relaxing and exciting experience will show you how diverse and entertaining the Neuchâtel region is.

You will discover the old town of Neuchâtel, taste the region`s emblematic wine, explore the gems hidden in Val de Travers and of course, enjoy nature and have a lot of fun!

This 2-day event is packed with joy and entertainment. You will join a small group of individuals and friends and enjoy being part of a memorable weekend getaway experience. 

It is the perfect opportunity to relax, have fun and enjoy a unique Swiss travel experience with old and new friends. 

What you can look forward to

• Discover the beautiful gorge de l`Areuse.

You will start your adventure with the discovery of Neuchâtel`s old town in an interactive and fun way. Just after you arrive, you will immediately immerse yourself in a thrilling scavenger hunt! You can work together with the others as one team or compete with each other while seek out  the Belle Epoque frescoes spread across the historic heart of Neuchâtel, discovering the city`s culture and history, revealing its surprising facts and solving different puzzles all along the way.

After a short lunch break where you can choose from the different cozy restaurants Neuchâtel offers, you will leave the old town to discover something completely different: the wine of the region!

During the afternoon, you will visit some wine cellars, and learn about the culture, the 2000-year-old history and the making of the authentic Neuchâtel wine. You will also have the opportunity to taste the emblematic local wines such as the Oeil de Perdrix, the Pinot Noir or the Chasselas.

The second day you will explore the magical Val du Travers.

In the morning you will learn about the product the region is most famous for: the absinth!

You will travel along the absinth route and discover everything about absinth in the stops of your journey. In the House of Absinthe, you will discover the heritage, history, science and physics of absinthe through an interactive scenography and a film showing the facets of this drink full of fantastic stories (like the smuggling of the absinthe) and magic.

You will visit an absinthe dryer built in 1893 and some distilleries where you will see a demonstration of the actual absinth- making. Of course, you can also taste this unique drink if you wish to. You might also find an absinthe fountain on the way.

You will stroll through pretty historic villages, narrow roads and will enjoy the unique atmosphere of Val de Travers.

After a short lunch break in the restaurant of the asphalt mines - most probably there will be no time to visit the mine itself, but their ham baked in asphalt is amazing and would be a crime to miss! – you will head to Noiraigue, where you will start your easy, but moderately long spectacular hike along the gorge de l`Areuse (11 km, 300 m descend, 50 m ascend, 3h).

This superb hike is very popular among the Neuchâteloise, however based on my experience it is not well-known the other parts of the country. Again, this is a feature of the region what is must to see once you are visiting. So, be patient and smile to your hike mates if it gets a bit crowded time to time 😊.

This captivating route follows the course of the river Areuse – tranquil one moment, tempestuous the next. Stone bridges, catwalks, stairways, narrow passages through the cliffs and awesome rock walls punctuate this revitalising hike through the gorges.

The hike ends in Boudry, from where with a short tram ride you will be back to the centre of Neuchâtel.

Accommodation Details

You will stay in a standard 3- star hotel what is offering breakfast.

Upgrade of the accommodation is possible, if you wish to ask for it, please let me know in advance.

For dinner, there will be restaurants near the hotel to choose from.

In this fun experience, you will explore Zurich as you never seen it before.  You will discover how a Roman toll point became a city of high quality of life and one of the most expensive cities in the world. You will learn interesting and entertaining facts, explore the hidden gems of Zurich and hear about the legends and life of the city.

Then, when you think Zurich cannot surprise you anymore, you will head to the Urania observatory which has been part of the cultural life of the city of Zurich for over 100 years. Under its majestic wooden dome, you will get an insight into astronomy and learn exciting facts about the universe. If the sky is clear, you can make your own observations through the telescope.
